Brake fluid

Putting the wrong fluid in a master cylinder can cause thousands of dollars of repairs. Seals, and o-rings can be damaged as well as sensors.

Dot3, is what most vehicles use. Brake fluid should be a golden color. If its black, it is contaminated, and needs to be flushed with new brake fluid.

To check the brake fluid level, most master cylinder resivors are almost see through with lines. One line is for minimum level, and the other line is maximum level. Just look at the master cylinder and see how full the brake fluid is. If brake fluid has to be added every week or so, then there is a leak somewhere in the brakeing system.

Never over-fill a master cylinder.
